With over 25 years of IT experience Steven has worked at several successful start-ups as well as one of Europe’s largest e-commence retailers. Steven has experience in Enterprise IT Systems, IT consultancy, launching new products and information architecture in areas including e-commerce, big data, ML and mobile applications. Today he is the CDO of IBO GmbH leading the company’s digital transformation and business diversification for industrial digital solutions.

Dr. Walter K. Davis is a Product Engineering Specialist for Autonomous Vehicle Systems, at Honda Motor Company. In his current role, Dr. Davis serves as liaison between Vehicle Research and New Product Introduction, integrating autonomous vehicle sensing and adaptive safety designs from concepts to production at Honda’s flexible manufacturing facilities. Previously, he worked to integrate new products and create intellectual property management systems for defensive avionics, commercial appliances, and government specializing in electromagnetic sensors technologies, electronic controls, networking hardware, and vehicular communications. Walter’s experience spans engineering and analyst roles processing technology patents for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, engineering development in multinational companies such as Northrop Grumman Aerospace and General Electric Appliances and while serving in the U. S. Army Signals Intelligence Command. 

Walter served eight years as technical specialist in the U.S. Army, supporting satellite and vehicular communication systems for the 2nd Infantry, Stryker Brigade and to Arctic Warfare Special Operations Forces. Dr. Davis received his Doctorate and MBA Cum Laude in Business Administration from Capella University with emphasis in Intellectual Property Development Strategy, and Operations Management, a Master’s in Project Management from the University of California, Irvine, professional certification in Intellectual Property Law from the U. S. Patent & Trademark Office, and a BASc, in Electronic Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute. Dr. Davis is a new published author of the book Career Advantages: An Interdisciplinary Approach, and volunteers as a graduate mentor assisting Doctoral business and technology students at Capella University’s Career Center located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sai Yamanoor has over 6 years of experience as an embedded systems expert and currently works for Linde in Buffalo, NY. He currently works on IoT system design, testing and deployment. He is a co-author of two books on the use of Raspberry Pi to execute DIY projects, and he has also presented a Personal Health Dashboard system at Maker Faires across the country.

Josef Kriegmair works as Representative Production Turbine Blade / Structure Castings at MTU Aero Engines AG Center Production. Since 2010, his main task has been the development and implementation of digital process chains and manufacturing intelligence systems for turbine blades and structure castings. Prior to that, he was in production engineering with a focus on technology development for production and for maintenance, repair and overhaul. He hold roles in logistics and plant maintenance at MTU Aero Engines from 1997 to 2001. Josef started in technical procurement at MTU.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering focus Production Technology and a degree in Industrial Engineering focus Project Management and Technology Management.

Steve Rymell joined Airbus in 2000, having held roles within the IT & Security organisations of well-known companies from the Automobile sector to Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

He started at Airbus as IT strategist within the satellite division and was appointed as CIO in 2003.

In Jan 2007, he took a Directorship within the UK government, ensuring security for overseas parts of the government. 

He returned to Airbus in April 2011 and moved to the CyberSecurity organisation. Since then Steven has been part of the executive team, shaping the development of the organisation through 9 years of rapid growth.

Barrie is the Global Product Manager for Mobile Solutions within the innovation and business development organisation of SKF, the world’s largest bearing manufacturer.

With an electrical and electronic engineering background, Barrie has worked in design engineering, project management, business development and most recently responsible for SKF’s offering of portable vibration analysers and solutions.

Combining wireless sensors, with smart mobile apps and SKF’s web-based condition monitoring software, users can prevent costly, unplanned downtime using SKF tools and knowledge as part of a rotating equipment performance programme.

Dr. Christine Richardson is the Director of Sensor Technology at Ecolab. Dr. Richardson has over 20 years of technology leadership experience and prior to joining Ecolab was CTO at Rubicon Technology and VP, Crystal Growth Systems Development and Engineering for GT Advanced Technologies. Her earlier experience includes leading photovoltaic technology development for GTAT; Senior Director of Advanced Process Development for Evergreen Solar; and process development engineering for Advanced Micro Devices.

Dr. Richardson has her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology, M.S. degrees in Applied Physics and Materials Science and Engineering from Harvard University and Stanford University respectively, and a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Vivek Subramaniam heads Digital Enablement and COE teams at Nissan Digital India. He brings product development and management experience across Nissan, GE, Tech Mahindra & TCS. Over the last 5+ years he has focused on driving Digital Transformation across Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

Tom is an architect & urban planners using open data, api’s & IoT solutions to create more social, sustainable & resilient cities. In 2010 he founded Tapp, an award winning smart city design agency enabling local governments and industries to become leaders in the bottom up digital revolution. Using agile and lean start-up methodologies, he works with public and private partners to rapid prototype civic tech solutions that solve urgent urban dilemmas.

Martin Skjold Grøntved is a Cand.Soc from Copenhagen Business School and is a Danish representative in the EU Commission for the Galileo Program Committee. He’s a special advisor in SDFE developing projects to ensure that Danish business and research and the public sector benefit as much as possible from the GNSS and the technological potentials of accurate and dynamic location data, where the research and development platform TAPAS is a key tool.

Juhi has over 5 years of industry experience as an IoT expert and currently works for Centre for Intelligent Power in Pune, India. Apart from manufacturing, she has experience working on other domains like retail, healthcare. She has published a number of papers and patents.

Juhi’s current interests include Edge computing, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Robotics. She is currently working on using data science techniques aimed at improving energy consumption and improving OEE for factories and buildings.

Francis Govers is the designer of over 30 unmanned land, sea, air and space vehicles. He currently works at Bell Flight as Autonomy Lead for the Innovation Group. He is an Air Force veteran, was head of command and control for the International Space Station, Deputy Chief Engineer for Unmanned Systems at the US Army Future Combat Systems, participated in the DARPA Grand Challenge, and managed a Zeppelin airship.

At Sportvision, he supported the “Yellow Line” for NFL football, and designed the onboard telemetry system for NASCAR and IndyCar. He has published 45 articles or papers and authored the book “Artificial Intelligence for Robotics”. He received five outstanding achievement awards from NASA, the Pioneer Award from the National Space Society, and recognition from Scientific American for “World Changing Ideas”.  Francis earned his master’s degree from Brandeis University.

With 15 years of experience in the transport world, Orlie began her path in the industry through her time in the Air Force. With her expertise in aviation, she was recruited to operate a private aviation fleet, then moved on to complete her BA in Business Management at IDC. Orlie became the first female entrepreneur in the community she leads today by founding Blitz Motors, a two-wheeled electric vehicle company. Among her other accomplishments, Orlie represented the Israeli Transport sector in the European Commission and in EU for joint R&D. Orlie is the current acting Executive Director at EcoMotion where her passion for smart mobility continues to open new doors for innovation and growth within the community. 

Orlie has also Founded a community of Women in Mobility to grow the number of women in the field by sharing challenges and opportunities while acquiring new tools for professional growth.

Nasreen is the Art and Design Director for Global eCommerce Business at Trident Group, a USD 1 Bn Business conglomerate with the largest Terry Towel Manufacturing unit under one roof.

Prior to that she was Head of Product Innovation and R&D at Trident Group. She has over 7 years of experience in Global Home Fashion Industry with an entrepreneurial outlook and strong research ability, translating emerging trends into marketable products with proven business conversions. She has extensive experience with International Trade fairs, Design Studios and Textile Mills.

Nasreen has completed her Post Graduation in Industrial Design from National Institute of Design.

As Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Intelligent Mobility Specialist in San Francisco, Alejandro conducts research relating to autonomous vehicles and mobility services globally. Alejandro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana; and a Master of Energy Management and Policy from Columbia University in New York City. He has been a transportation and mobility analyst with Bloomberg New Energy Finance since 2010.

Guillermo Assales has been working in the Automotive Industry for 15 years – leading teams, different projects and looking for continuous improvement for our customers. Some plants from the USA, Italy, Venezuela and mainly Brazil enabled him to develop expertise in Quality and Product & Process optimisation through World Class Manufacturing in a challenging environment as the automakers industry. Guillermo graduated in Industrial Engineering and specialized in Business and Project Management.

Rafael Szarf is the current Head of Logistics for Americas and Sub-Saharan African, with solid experience on end to end Supply Chain, Last-mile distribution, Procurement and Innovation domains, engineer graduated in Brazil with Master of Science (MSc) in Innovation Management by Polytechnique in France.

In BAT for more than 10 years now, Rafael led transformational initiatives such as ‘Collaborative Logistics’ and ‘Last Mile Transformation’, both recognized as best FMCG Logistics case in Brazil (2018-2019) by multiple entities.

Dr. Hassan is currently working as a Leader of the IRI Innovation, Innovation Projects – Nuclear – Ontario Power Generation (OPG). The Innovation group participates in different nuclear reactor inspection, monitoring and maintenance projects such as, Machine Vision IFMED, AI Expert Systems IERS, Drone Inspection, Intelligent FME Detection, Single Fuel Channel Replacement (SFCR), C/T replacement, BR projects, etc.  Dr. Hassan was assigned to help the group to introduce new Smart Technologies which eventually result in better performance, reduced time, dose, and cost leading to operational excellence.

Dr. Hassan received his Ph.D. in 1990 in Industrial Automation. He was elected to work as an assistant professor of industrial automation and robotics.  Dr. Hassan worked as a head of the Robot Research Lab and he has several published researches.  

Dr. Hassan selected to switch from the academic career to the field of consultancy. He worked in several positions as an Engineering Consultant, until 2006, when he chose to join the nuclear industry, where his industrial and academic experience may be helpful.

Over his academic and industrial career, he has been active in various capacities with several professional organizations, including the Academy of Scientific Research, IEEE, The Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers, The National Research Center, The Project Management Institute, and the Professional Engineers of Ontario. 

Dr. Hassan had his M. Sc. Degree in Material Science (Composite Material) in 1986 and he graduated from ASU, as a mechanical engineer in 1981.

Stephan Köhler has an engineering background in industrial engineering from the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.

In his current role at Brasseler. he drives the strategy and transformation of the company. As a Medtech company Brasseler., is a typical hidden champion of the famous “German Mittelstand” with a leading international position in design and production of instruments for dentists and surgeons.

Digitisation of the production value streams is at the core of Brasseler.’s strategy. The aim is to manage the high requirements of the new Medical Device Regulation and to improve the competitive positioning as a company with production in a high cost labour country like Germany.

Over the last couple of years Brasseler. implemented vital elements of industry 4.0 infrastructure and has successfully implemented use cases e.g. in the field of machine learning.

Stephan also has extensive experience as a management and strategy consultant, and is convinced that digitisation is core to maintain and improve competitiveness for mid-size companies of the German Mittelstand. He is also Advisory Board Member at Microsoft Germany, guiding manufacturing corporations to re-think their industrial, digital transformation cases nominated for Microsoft conferences “Industry Days” and the “Industry Manufacturing Award”.

Dan is the Strategy and Partnerships manager for the Smart Cambridge programme, set up to explore how data and emerging technology can help address the challenges that Cambridge and the wider county face such as congestion, poor air quality, infrastructure constraints and the creation of better places. Funded by the Greater Cambridge Partnership the programme has trialled new sensors technologies, networks such as Lora/Sigfox and now 5G, built data infrastructure and tools to primarily support a move to sustainable modes of transport.

Dan has led on the development of autonomous vehicle pilot which launches shortly in the city. The programme recently received funding from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority to expand the work started in Cambridge out into the market towns across Cambridgeshire. The programme is highly collaborative and has worked extensively with the University of Cambridge, local businesses and local communities.

Prachi Jain is a UX design leader and creativity coach with more than 15 years of industry experience. Currently she is working with Philips Healthcare, leading UX design strategy for Diagnostic Imaging solutions. Currently, she leads a high performing team of User Experience Designers, Usability experts and Visual Designers to create innovative solutions in context of the users’ needs and changing healthcare approach. She works in collaboration with clinical experts to empathise and create user centric design. She works very closely with the marketing and development team to create feasible and viable health care solutions as she strongly believes in teaming up early for better usability and value of the solution. Her previous experience includes working for Smart cities, Smart buildings and Smart home solutions with Honeywell labs. She has also led design solutions for cross industries and multiple geographies while working at Infosys Technologies Ltd.

She has also developed and delivers several design workshops for students and professionals at various levels on a pro bono basis.

Prachi holds Masters in communication and information design from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Bachelors in Architecture from GCA Lucknow. She is currently pursuing her doctoral program(part time) from IIT Dhanbad in the field of Smart Cities and associated user interface design strategies.
